Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data Working Capital Days (workingcapitaldays.com, “we”, “us”) collects when you use this website, why, and what choices you have. We keep it deliberately short because we collect very little.
Who we are
Working Capital Days is a UK website providing free working capital guides and calculators for small businesses. You can contact us at [email protected] or via our contact page.
The short version
- We do not ask you to create an account, and the calculators run in your browser – the figures you type into them are not sent to us or stored.
- We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. Its cookies are off by default and only switch on if you click “Accept” on our cookie banner.
- We do not use advertising or marketing cookies, and we do not sell your data.
Analytics and cookies
With your consent we use Google Analytics 4 (provided by Google Ireland Limited and Google LLC). If you accept, it sets two first-party cookies and records anonymous usage information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, your approximate location (country/region), device type and browser.
| Cookie | Purpose | Lasts | Set only if you accept? |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Distinguishes returning visitors so we can count them accurately | 2 years | Yes |
_ga_GBRDZH2VM0 |
Keeps track of your session | 2 years | Yes |
wcd_consent_v1 (stored in your browser’s local storage, not a cookie) |
Remembers your cookie choice so we do not keep asking | 12 months | No – strictly necessary to honour your choice |
If you decline, Google Analytics does not set cookies on your device. Google Analytics may still receive limited, cookieless signals when a page loads (for example the page address, your browser type and your IP address, which Google uses to derive approximate location) so that we can see overall traffic levels without identifying you across visits. We cannot and do not try to identify you from this.
Our lawful basis for the cookies is your consent (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(a) and PECR); for the limited cookieless measurement it is our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f)).
Changing your mind: use the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of any page to accept or withdraw consent at any time. You can also delete cookies in your browser settings.
Google acts as our processor for analytics and may process data outside the UK; it relies on approved transfer mechanisms. See how Google uses data from sites that use its services.
Comments and contact
If comments are open on a page and you leave one, we collect the name, email address and website you enter, your IP address and your browser user agent, to display the comment and to detect spam. You can ask us to remove your comment at any time. If you email us, we use your email address and message only to reply to you.
Links and sharing buttons
Some pages link to third-party sites (for example social-sharing links). These are ordinary links: those sites only receive data from you if you click through, and they have their own privacy policies.
How long we keep data
Analytics data is kept for the retention period configured in our Google Analytics account. Comments are kept until you ask us to remove them. Emails are kept for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict our processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, email [email protected]. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we use data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
